The Red Antler
About This Spot
Perched in the heart of Silver Star Mountain, The Red Antler feels like a familiar pause amidst the rhythm of busy ski days and mountain adventures. It strikes a delicate balance between approachable and spirited, offering a place where locals and visitors alike can unwind without fuss. There’s a comfort here in the communal hum—the clink of glasses, quiet laughter, and the steady flow of conversations that linger over shared plates.
The pace inside mirrors the mountain outside—relaxed yet energized, with a casual warmth that invites you to stay a little longer. The wooden accents and subtle nods to rustic alpine charm create an atmosphere that’s open and welcoming, where the day’s adventure seeps gently into evening plans. It’s a spot where you can feel the freshness of the surrounding landscape seep through the windows while enjoying the familiar comfort of generous plates and well-chosen drinks.
Food at The Red Antler leans into hearty, satisfying fare with a thoughtful nod to variety and local flavors. Whether you’re warming up after a morning on the slopes or settling in for a laid-back afternoon, the menu offers simple pleasures like a well-crafted burger or a vibrant salad with fresh, seasonal touches. The dishes carry an earthy familiarity, with occasional surprises that tease the palate—whether it’s a bowl that balances wholesome grains and lively greens or a spicy twist in a taco that speaks to the adventurous spirit of the place.
Drinks complement the menu as much as the setting itself. There’s a selection mindful of the local craft scene, with brews and cocktails that suit a lively après-ski vibe without overwhelming it. It’s the kind of place where the casual request for a refreshing mule or a pint feels easy and genuine, a small nod to the shared rhythm of mountain life.
The Red Antler is not about perfection but presence. You might notice the little human touches—the hustle and modest slip-ups of a busy kitchen during peak times, or tables that sometimes carry the traces of the day’s lively pace. These are the marks of a place that embraces authenticity over polish, creating moments that feel real and rooted in community. It’s a spot where flavors, conversations, and pauses between come together, crafting a quietly memorable experience on Silver Star’s western slope.

The food and service were good. The salad fresh and the waffle yam fries yum. The ding on the score is mainly because as the meal went on and after we cleared plates I came across a few sticky spots on the table that were not from anything we spilled. Yuck

Service was good. Friendly staff. Had wings that were OK and an overcooked, almost burnt grilled cheese sandwich. They placed the burnt side down. Yes, we noticed. The soup was good. A lamb barley type soup.

Pretty meh but it’s a ski resort / Disney land what can you expect ?! A lot of good beers but if you order a pitcher they will grill you on how many people are sharing it ( a little zealously if you ask me but maybe the inspector downed some solo pitchers recently). The nachos were an abomination in terms of quantity but maybe it’s catering to an active crowd trying to watch their figure . I admired the one server who was initially ice cold then turned the charm on midway through , I would do the same !

Attended a ski camp and had the most delicious food provided by the staff at the Red Antler. We enjoyed a healthy, hearty lunch each day of our 5 day camp. The macaroni and cheese was fantastic. Enjoyed a variety of vegetarian dishes: Moroccan stew and quinoa lentil stew. Soup and salad accompanied each lunch. We returned one evening for a delicious falafel salad.
